Primoconsumo apre le porte il prossimo 15/01/2014 a giocatori d’azzardo ad ai loro familiari. Nella sede dell’Associazione, in via Caracciolo, n.2, Roma, essi potranno riunirsi all’interno di gruppi di Auto-Mutuo-Aiuto (AMA) in un contesto riservato e protetto, nel rispetto della privacy.

Il progetto è realizzato dall’Associazione Primoconsumo a seguito dell’esperienza maturata con il centro d’ascolto “Game Over” nell’ambito del gioco d’azzardo patologico.

Nel 2013 i dati sul gioco compulsivo sono allarmanti poiché evidenziano che il fenomeno è in crescita. La percentuale delle persone che si sono rivolte al Centro d’ascolto di età compresa tra i 41 ed i 50 anni e tra i 51 e i 60 è in aumento, rispetto al 2012.
La prima fascia infatti, passa dal 12,7% al 15,4%; la seconda fascia passa dal 6,9% al 8,6%. Molte di queste persone hanno chiamato per problematiche di gioco patologico che riguardavano i figli.

I gruppi di Auto-Mutuo-Aiuto non prevedono la presenza, né la conduzione di psicologi, poiché non sono gruppi di terapia; ci sarà invece un facilitatore.

I gruppi di Auto-Mutuo-Aiuto saranno composti seguendo il criterio dell’omogeneità, ovvero differenziando i gruppi dei giocatori da quelli dei familiari. L’ora ed il giorno degli incontri saranno stabiliti dai partecipanti stessi e concordati con l’Associazione. All’interno dei gruppi i giocatori o i familiari potranno confrontarsi con altre persone che vivono la loro stessa esperienza ed intraprendere un percorso comune per affrontare il disagio legato al gioco, condividendo le proprie emozioni, con l’obiettivo di potenziare le proprie capacità e di superare le difficoltà.

La partecipazione ad un gruppo AMA è gratuita e spontanea, ovvero non è richiesta prescrizione medica, né invio da parte di struttura sanitaria.
